I’m often asked about the “glass plates” we sell at TT Patton. Well, they are part of the John Derian decoupage collection that includes plates and platters and paperweights and lamps and you name it. So, what does all this have to do with a stationery store? Well, they’re all made with paper; as decoupage is the art of cutting and gluing paper images to surfaces. In most cases the images are vintage pieces discovered and adored by John Derian himself. Although he’s rather famous now, featured in 100s of magazines and the darling of the New York Gift Show, he didn’t start out with those intentions. Take a look at his story as presented in the Cool Hunting video….and then stop on over and take a look at his products. They make wonderful gifts, and I’m sure you’ll find something that “speaks to you” in all this paper matter.
