TT Patton introduces journal writing workshops.  

Join a small group of like-minded people to share your journaling experience.  Journal writing classes at TT Patton offer a quiet writing room for busy people.  Relax and reflect on what your thoughts are telling you.  Whether it be a private practice or a gift for generations to come, journaling is personal, pleasing and practical. 

Writer Mary Klest will lead the workshops on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30pm.  Trained as a journalist her writing career spans 20 years.  She is a contributing writer and columnist for Quintessential Barrington magazine and a writing coach specializing in personal narratives including essay, memoir and journal writing.

Giving Up Control / A Simpler Life - 6 weekly sessions, beginning March 3rd. FULL
The Japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi honors a way of accepting the imperfect and giving up control while appreciating life.  Compare and contrast what we have vs. what we need.  Discover the ease of free-writing.  Price: $89.

Childhood Memories - 6 weekly sessions, beginning April 21st. FULL
Revisit childhood experiences using coming of age journal entries to trace childhood memories. Price: $89.

Travel - The Inner & Outer Journey - 4 weekly session, beginning June 2nd. FULL
Spend a little time to learn a lot during journeys away from home.  Learn how to document your trips by capturing the most vivid moments. Price: $59.

Transitions and Letting Go - 6 weekly sessions, beginning September 15th.
Whether holding on or letting go now is the time to put your thoughts on paper.  Emotional truth during challenging times becomes a treasure for the future.  Price: $89.

Gratitude - 4 weekly sessions, beginning October 27th.
Cultivating a positive mindset through writing.  A gratitude journal is a healthy reminder during good times and bad. Price: $59.

Spilled Ink - a creative writing workshop created just for junior high students. We will explore everything from journaling, to poetry, to fiction writing and beyond in these fun, interactive workshops. And in the final class titled, "Open Book", you'll get to invite your family and friends to share your favorite work.

Our exciting new writer/doodler/dreamer Jennifer Drinka will inspire you to develop your unique voice.  Jennifer has many years of experience leading Creative Writing Workshops for teens, and hold a Bachelor's Degree in Fiction Writing from Columbia College Chicago. 

So save your Tuesday evenings.  Workshops are 6 weekly sessions and begin July 14th until August 18th, 7:00-8:30pm right in our shop.  Pens, journals, supplies, and snacks will be provided!
