Occupy Barrington

Meet me downtown Barrington this Saturday November 26th.  I’ll be near the corner of Station and Cook Streets at a small business called TT Patton.  No need to bring picket signs.  Everything we need will be posted in the window.   Just come ready to Shop 60010.  It’s Small Business Saturday!

Barrington village leaders, BACC board members and other politicians stop scratching your heads and follow Illinois Senator Mark Kirk, a supporter of Small Business Saturday sponsored by American Express. There’s no need to hold a town hall meeting or convene any super committees just to create political gridlock.  According to the US SBA, we already know we’re the 99%!  We’re actually 99.7% of all employer firms.  We employ half of all private sector employees.  We pay 44% of the US private payroll.  And we’ve generated 65% of new jobs in the past 17 years.

So keep it small and local.  For every $100 spent in locally owned, independent stores, $68 stays right here.  We need your support!

So get in your car, take the Metra, or walk over to OCCUPY the shops of BARRINGTON!

Thank you American Express for sponsoring Small Business Saturday.  American Express is also helping you make a difference.  Register your American Express card and get $25 to shop Saturday!  Now this is what compromise looks like.
