Barrington as a Backdrop
This Memorial Day Weekend, TT Patton joined in on Barrington’s annual art festival, hitting the streets to get kids writing! We tabled, laughed, and met tons of budding young writers at our writing contest, just outside of the shop. Prompting kids to imagine a place they’d sail, if they could sail anywhere in the world, and then to describe their destination using all five senses resulted in all sorts of imaginative pieces of writing–the smells of Candyland, visions of Ferraris on racetracks in Italy, and tastes of fish in Brazil had us traveling all over from our own front step.
The winner of our contest will receive an orange leather journal by WalknTalk, as well as one of Pilot’s colored-ink disposable fountain pens! Thanks to all the smiling, excited kids who stopped by to write with us last weekend, and we hope to see you back soon, joining us for one of our six summer camps, featuring letter-sending, fairytale weaving, and poetry slams!
Thanks for writing with us,
