It includes celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Naomi Judd, Gladys Knight, Jenifer Lewis, Sanaa Lathan, Laurel Holloman, Jane Lynch, Dana Delany, Felicity Huffman, Kristin Davis and Della Reese; civil rights icons such as Angela Davis, Myrlie Evers-Williams, Diane Nash, Joan Mulholland, Sonia Sanchez; she-roes such as Nikki Giovanni, Leymah Gbowee, Gloria Steinem and extraordinary women whose names you might not know. Award-winning photo-journalist/producer/author Miki Turner has been working in the communications industry for more than 29 years, specializing in print, television, radio and new media. Before completing her first book, journey to the woman i’ve come to love, Turner held positions at Jet magazine, ESPN, MSNBC.com, AOL.com, BET, and several newspapers. Additionally, her work has appeared in Ebony, Essence, Upscale and Arise magazines.

Turner received her B.A. degree in mass media arts from Hampton University and an M.S. in journalism from Boston University. In 1989, she was selected as one of 16 fellows at the Maynard Institute for Journalism Education at UC-Berkeley. She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, the Television Critics Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Turner resides in Los Angeles.
